TOWN OF POLK — Colgate- area developer Peter Briggs believes his new twobuilding, multi-unit selfstorage complex will be completed by around Sept. 30 — just in time for area residents to store their sports utility or recreational vehicles, among other items, when the camping and outdoor summer activity season is over.

“I have approval to build 400 storage units at the location at 3651 N. Lovers Lane Road,” Briggs said. “These two buildings will be the first of the units to be completed in this phase.”

Briggs owns My Other Garage, a company that already leases other selfstorage space elsewhere in the area. Aaron Nagel of Keller Inc., who is charge of construction, said there is room for many other future units at the site.

“The first building of the initial two buildings will have 14 self storage units. Each unit is 13 feet by 45 feet. They will have 12-foot-by-14foot overhead doors for larger boats and RV storage. They will have automatic sectional doors with key pads,” Nagel said. “He said once we feel we’ve

reached a point that other units should be built then we’ll begin work on construction additional buildings there.”

Nagel said building #2 is 190 feet long by 40 feet wide and that will contain the 10by-20-foot storage units.

“All are for cold storage. There are 40 in that building, 36 of them are 10 feet by 20 feet. Four others will be 10 by 10. They will have 9-feetby- 8-foot roll-up doors,” Nagel said. “They also are all for cold storage.”

Briggs said he believes there’s a need in the community for additional storage space, especially since earlier in the year the Slinger Village Board tightened regulations on where such units can be parked on residential lots and for what length of time.

“Some of these spaces are large so they will be able to handle the large units people can’t store on their home lots,” Briggs said. “The large doors will also make it easier and more convenient to get their materials in and out.”

Briggs said people interested in leasing some of the units can get more information from him by calling 262966-9000.

Workers from Keller Inc. worked on completing construction of two large self storage units Friday for My Other Garage at 3651 N. Lovers Lane Road in the Town of Polk, about a quarter mile south of the intersection with Highway 60 in Slinger. Developer Peter Briggs said there are to be two buildings completed in the first phase of the project, for which he has been approved to build 400 storage units in total. Some of the units will be large enough to store boats and other sport and recreational vehicles.
