A 36-year-old Kewaskum man was injured in a single vehicle car accident on Friday, Feb. 26. He was flown by Flight for Life helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with significant injuries.

At 4:16 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Communication Center received a report of a one-vehicle crash at County Highway TC and County Highway M in the Township of Springvale, near Brandon.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a passenger car was traveling westbound on County Highway TC when it failed to negotiate a curve. The westbound passenger car crossed the centerline, went off the roadway striking a utility pole and fence.

The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof in a pasture to the west side of County Highway TC and north of County Highway M. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by Brandon/Fairwater Fire Department.

The Kewaskum man was the driver and lone occupant and was not wearing his seatbelt. Alcohol, speed and reckless driving appear to be factors in the crash. Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office were assisted on the scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Brandon/Fairwater Fire Department, Life Star Ambulance and Flight for Life.

The crash is being investigated by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. Names are not being released at this time.
