Join us on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of music and merriment with Ken Lonnquist. The concert will be held outdoors at the Mauthe Lake recreation area picnic shelter of the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Northern Unit, which is located off County Road GGG south of County Road SS near New Prospect.
A Wisconsin State Park System vehicle admission sticker is required. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Ice Age Visitor Center (located off Highway 67 half mile west of Dundee). Ken Lonnquist, an award-winning songwriter and entertainer, hails from Madison.
He performs for audiences all ages in a wide array of musical styles. His kids’ songs are flat-out unique — insightful, ribtickling and literate — even old codgers and hard-bitten young teenagers love them! Ken doesn’t just write for the younger crowd, but also for adults who chuckle at his sharp wit and empathize with his heart-felt ballads.
His gift for improvisation engages audiences from audience interaction and songs made up right onthe- spot! For more information about this wonderfully entertaining family concert or directions, contact the forest staff at the Ice Age Visitor Center. The staff can be reached at (920) 533- 8322. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
